The Nautilus is one of greatest sporting model produced by Patek Philippe, it has become one of the company's most iconic wristwatches. The first Nautilus timepiece appeared in 1976 and was created by the watch designer Gerald Genta. The design of the sporty Nautilus was inspired by sea vessels and their portholes in particular. As a celebration of the 30th anniversary of the model, Patek Philippe launched a new Nautilus in 2006- the 5711.
