Charity Auction explained
In most cases a charity auction is organized to aid a person or group in need. They exist to benefit specific foundations, raise money for medical research and to assist countless other organizations. The idea behind charity is to be generous to others who are less fortunate.
The Only Watch Charity Auction
In this case we put ‘The Only Watch charity auction’ in spotlights. This 7th edition is organized by ‘Association Monégasque contre les myopathies’ and auctioned by ‘Christie’s’.
Since 2005, Only Watch has collected more than 25 million euros under patronage of Prince Albert ll of Monaco. Luc Pettavino is the initiator of this international watchmaking charity event.
Watchmaking groups and independent watch brands are brought together by Only Watch with their exceptional timepieces, their creativity and their openness of heart. Only Watch is driven by the warmth and passion of the watch making industry. It reflects the industry’s wide commitment for noble causes. True masterpieces will be auctioned and the money will be donated to scientific and medical research on neuromuscular diseases in general and on Duchenne muscular dystrophy in particular.
The 7th edition of this charity auction began its world tour at the Monaco Yacht Show on 27 September and will culminate on 11 November in Geneva at the Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues.
Some of the participating brands are; Audemars Piguet, Bell & Ross, MB& F, Jaquet Droz, Zenith, Tudor, Hublot, Girard Perregaux, Tag Heuer, Ulysse Nardin, Patek Philippe, Breguet, Montblanc, Blancpain and many more. Each watchmaker will donate a unique watch for auction which is limited to just one piece. The highest bidder will receive an invitation for an exclusive event.
